All Female rock band needs easy covers

Sign in to disble this ad
We need 15 more songs to be able to go play out. We are wanting to add some really easy ones to our setlist so we can get out faster. My drummer has been drumming for 30 years. So we need to find something that is easy for guitar and bass. It doesn't have to be girly either. We cover AC/DC, Judas Priest, Joan Jett, Pat Benetar, 38 Special, Def Leppard, Hole. You can see our set list at www.cherryoctane.com if your really interested. But we are struggling with coming up with some easy ones to add quickly. Got any ideas for us??

Get the first three Ramones albums and you'll have tons of very easy choices.

Try some Girlschool
C'mon lets go
Hit & Run
Screaming Blue Murder

Any one of them would go good with your Runaways & Pat Benetar songs

GREAT band name!!!

In high school I was in a band with a girl singer.... Let me think....

You probably already play "Hit Me With Your Best Shot" and "Hate Myself For Loving You" - those are easy and are bigtime crowd pleasers. Go-Go's songs "We Got The Beat" and "Our Lips Are Sealed" should be on your list. "We Got The Beat" is fun as hell to play on bass. Madonna's "Like A Virgin" translates very well to a guitar-only arrangement and is also lots of fun on bass - bouncy bass line. It may be too obscure for you, but some Missing Persons songs also translate well to a guitar band - "Words" and "Destination Unknown".

Alannah Myles' "Black Velvet" would be a great song to play but I wouldn't exactly describe it as "easy".

Anything by ZZ Top: "Cheap Sunglasses", "Tush", "Legs", etc.

And how about "Locomotive Breath" by Jethro Tull? It's a rocking crowd pleaser and just 3 chords.

"Brain Stew" by Green Day
"Hardest Button to Button" by The White Stripes
"In Bloom" and "Rape Me" by Nirvana...tune down a half step for "Rape Me"
"Teenage Whore" by Hole (maybe you play that one already)
"Disarm" by Smashing Pumpkins
"Wonderwall" by Oasis (capo guitar at 2nd fret)
"Champagne Supernova" by Oasis
"What's Up" 4 Non Blondes

The Ramones' stuff was a good suggestion. I concur.

No way!!! Billy Gibbons' guitar playing is nowhere near easy. An experienced blues guitarist could all the licks somewhat quickly though.

why would she have to? I'm pretty sure that's not in the copy write laws or anything. She could just play the guitar parts and be fine
