Yep.

Caught that this week. Here's my take from another thread:

PLEASE NOTE:
I received an e-letter this week at work and one of the blurbs was the FCC auction of the 700 MHz frequencies(C band).
http://internetcommunications.tmcnet...ve-bidders.htm
In my part of the world the 700 MHz area is the most empty and my wireless is in that band. I'm watching for what happens for myself and band(guitar is in C-band, singer is sandwiched between TV stations in A-band) and will contact Sennheiser for comments & suggestions.

According to that article and others I've researched, 2009 is the "700 invasion year". I will report back what Sennheiser tells me about this as it will affect many of their toys.

I'd check the Canadian version of the FCC here:
http://www.crtc.gc.ca/eng/welcome.htm

Ask them what effect the US changes will have.

Honestly, many of the wireless frequencies are already gone.

Our church has 10 channels of wireless for lavaliers, and many of the frequency bands are already being used by the digital TV stations for broadcasting.

Most of the time, it's not that big of a deal, but on occasion it's an issue.

Most of the manufacturers will provide you a list of possible interference in your area.

Some tips we have found helpful:
1) keep a direct line of sight between the body packs and the receiver units.
2) keep the distance between the body pack and the receiver to a minimum.
3) FRESH BATTERIES! We switched to NiMH 9 volts so we could keep the packs at a nice strong 9.2 v (yes.. they actually reach 9v) at the beginning of a service, and then charge them over the course of a week.
