That first guitar riff that kicks in at 23 seconds is HEAVY! Not that I like country or anything.

You do now! Don't worry, your secret is safe with us!

Actually Jason Aldean has some pretty rockin' tunes for a country guy. I played that song in my last band, and we laughed about how country the words were, versus how non-country the music was.

He does the hellbilly stuff, no?
Think I've seen vids of him playing some heavy stuff with an upright, which is awesome!

All of your reactions are about the same as mine when I was told the same thing. I only listen to country at work, because that is what the radio gets set to.

As a feather in an updraft from and exploding helium balloon, maybe. Am I missing something? Is my sarcasm meter broken again?

That POS has nothing to do with country music at all. It's bad 90's pop music sold with a hat. I imagine someone said "Jason, my boy- you ain't good enough for us to sell you as a pop star. So, here's what we're gonna do. We'll get you a hat, buy one of those lame songs being upchucked by the hour in Nashville, record it with the same sound as all the other "hot country" faceless folks do, and sell you out of our Nashville office.

As Hank (the first and only good one, not his increasingly annoying and pointless progeny.... I hope I never have to endure Hank IV) rolls over in his grave and Merle plays 500 seat clubs, crap like this is successful.
