I've played it in two different country bands. The first one was in the early 80s (81-83) as straight up cover.
The second was with a female singer in the early 2002.
The lyric takes on new meaning when you change the gender.

Yeah, this is off their last album! I like this song, and I think the last album is awesome.

I recorded lots of compilation cassette tapes in my teenage years, and lots of times I used "Hot Dog" as a filler when there was not so much tape left (because of its short duration. The original version clocks at 3:17). I like it.

I was just joking.... In Thought the Out Door was the last studio release BEFORE John died. Coda was just scraps they pieced together.
