I listened to Beiber's "Baby" for the first time today...

........I hate to say it.....but, the vocal melody in the verse of Beiber's "Baby" is really good.......

Justin Bieber Featuring Ludacris - Baby (HQ Audio) (Album Version) - YouTube

does anyone else hear it?...I have a feeling if this melody were in an old Jackson 5 song with the Funk Brothers backing them, it would be a total classic.....

I just don't like robot muzak. I don't care what the melody is. It's souless junk to my ears.

oh you guys are just snobs. you realize a person actually made this melody? regardless of who it was, someone made that melody. not a soul-less computer.

it's every bit as "produced" as this song:
Jackson 5 Darling Dear - YouTube

honestly, the vocals are similar, too. as much of a music snob as I am, I have to give it to whoever wrote that melody. Paul Gilbert really gave me an appreciation for a good pop song and a good melody. as much as I really hate to credit anything that has anything to do with Beiber.....daaaaaaaaamn...I just can't help it.....

Of course I realize a person wrote the melody, you silly. People produced the whole thing. With robots. I just don't like the instruments used to produce it. Not a snob, just not excited about it in the least.

neither do I. I'm simply talking about the vocal melody. it jumps out to me as a modern Motown song.

I remember reading in Rolling Stone something that loosely had to do with how is chords and melodies were structured in a way very reminiscent of classics.

I hate Bieber as a singer. He's overprocessed and sounds like a girl. But he can play some drums.

His voice does sound quite a bit like a young MJ from back in the Jackson 5 days, especially during the chorus.
