Am I the only one that thinks that Stadium Arcadium is overrated?

It all just seems the same and mid-tempo. I always liked their wild songs and this only has a couple. Kind of dissappointing really...

It's a different album for sure. But I still like it.

Oh I like most of the songs on the album. I just don't like the variety.

I can't seem to write anything music-wise, so anythings better than me!

i think the band has certainly chosen a different path since californication, which isn't a big deal to me, but i did certainly like the pre-californication days of RHCP

Stadium Arcadium could not live up to the hype?
RHCP have become a parady of themself's.

i downloaded it a week early so i could hear it, with every intention of buying it after release to support my boys (i have been a fan for literally 20 years) but since i haven't listened to it....

i like it better than BTW, but not much better...too ballad-y for the most part, though there are a few good songs...maybe i will give it a listen again just to be fair

I think the casual RHCP fan will like it, but the hardcore ones won't. It's not bad, but not up to par.

So when did the Chilis turn into a lounge band?

Yeah, I was pretty disappointed. At least I didn't waste any money on it.

I agree. I think it would have been better if it was just one cd. I tried to listen to both disks back to back when I first got it and by the time I was a few songs into the second disk all the songs sounded the same and I lost interest.

I've only heard two songs off of it, and I will pursue it no further.

I agree, it's an album with potential, but instead of making a solid 12-song album, they decided to make 28 songs, which results in a lot of mediocre songs. I've heard it a couple of times now, and nothing really sticks, one ear in, other ear out so to say. Add to this the fact that Kiedis doesn't manage to sing in key live (yes, I find this very sad, songs like Californication are 6 years old and he still misses the begin of the chorus. No one expects him to be Freddy Mercury, but what I hear live is very sad), and I have to conclude that they're 'done'.

Although Flea did say "If you dont like Stadium Arcadium you dont like RHCP".... I have to admit he spoke too quickly there..

I actually like the rhcp's californication days more than their old stuff. So stadium arcadium is a yay for me.

Matter of preference actually, I like flea's melodious bass lines rather than slappydy slap frenzy. Though I really enjoy songs like around the world and suck my kiss.
