I started a band with my friend Dan (guitarist) about 3 years ago. We usually just jammed during the summer with various friends that were drummers (sucky ones, I may add). From the beginning, our name has always been MOLA. Don't know why, but I've always thought it was a really good name.
Anyway...
Now we're in high school, have a sweet drummer, and are starting to get a few gigs here and there (house parties, school events, etc.) and, all of a sudden, Dan says he hates the name MOLA and wants to change it. He says it makes us sound industrial (?). I still think that it is a sweet name.
Now, Dan is my friend so I'm not just going to brush it off and tell him that he can quit if he doesn't like the name, or something to that effect, but I want to convince him that people like the name.
So, what do you think? MOLA - yea or nay?
EDIT: forgot poll. dammit. Mods?

I'm not going to say which way I voted.

I think the name of a band is pretty irrellevent (sp).
If someone doesnt like it now they probably never will so what do you value more? The band or his input? That might be what it comes down to in the end.

It also reminds me of "molé", the Mexican sauce. Now I'm hungry.

MOLA isn't that great, IMO. But then again, I was always terrible at band names.
