I bought an acoustic guitar ...

...and I'm selling one of my basses (an '82 G&L L1000) to fund it.

I've been doing some recording in my home studio, and have a song that needs a decent acoustic guitar sound. GAS is GAS, and I couldn't help myself.

nothing wrong with being a "Musician" as apposed to just a "Bassist".

I like them Seagull Acoustics.

I spent a long time hacking around on a guitar before I found my way home to the bass. But, every once in a while, old habits rear their ugly heads and I find myself holding one of them little 6-stringers again.

I'm really kidding. I played guitar for 13 years before switching to bass. . . But I have played very little guitar since then, which was 11 years ago.

I still have my first two electrics and an acoustic. . . but they only see the light of day when I'm recording. I do most of my composing in either bass or keys.

I had a short-lived guitar-G.A.S. episode last year with a hollowbody: I was close to buying either an Ibanez Artcore, or an Epiphone Sheraton, but ended up getting a Line6 Variax, which I quickly sold a few weeks after. . .

Guitar G.A.S. I just not fun. . .

My recent foray into home recording has unearthed the guitar-playing side of me again. One thing for sure, being a bass player has made me a much better musician.

Not a traitor at all. I always thought the guitar vs. bass thing that has went on was dumb. We're all musicians no matter what.

Mostly true. However, there certainly are some people that are simply guitarded.

I play my acoustic 6 string guitar everyday. When I don't have a band around, I go out and play open mic nights. Nothing wrong with being versitile. I am by no means a guitarist, but I am a bassist that can play rhythem guitar.
I don't consider myself a guitarist, even though I can hold my own with the best of them on a mean bar chord!

Nope, I often play my brothers acoustic. I partically love just strumming out chords on it, it's so satisfying, particularly because it feels so much different to playing chords on a bass!

Beautiful. I always have to pop in these threads when I see a Seagull - I've been advocating them ever since I first touched mine a year ago. What model is it?

And on another note, Fender phosphor bronze strings rock on these, especially the standard S6 models. I use them, and I've heard from other people that use them too that they really help the guitar sing.

This one is an M6 Gloss. I had just about pulled the trigger on a S6, but found this one within my budget. The guy in the brown truck should be bringing it to me in a couple of hours

You had to sell your G&L?
That is some pricey acoustic!
