These are all the same place, aren't they? Why?

I just ordered something from AMS there was only 1 left of in stock, and lo and behold, it became unavailable at both other stores. Pretty sure they always have the same exact overall stock and prices also.

They are... as for why they have three online storefronts, I don't know. Maybe the other two were originally independent stores who merged with AMS and AMS decided to keep their original sites going (maybe to keep the original zzsounds and SDM customers?)

AMS is great though (and I would assume the other two would be by extension)... been using them since the pre-internet days.

Also, in case you didn't know, the company also had an actual brick-and-mortar store called Victor's, which was bought up by, you guessed it, Guitar Center.

AMS has been my fav for quite a while too. I've ordered tons of stuff from them. I always get right through on the phone to whoever I want to speak to, they're always helpful and curteous, and the few times I needed to return things they immediately sent the replacement along with the return authorization and ups sticker. No questions asked except for maybe their needing to type in a reason for return. I also really like the payment options. My past doesn't haunt me with for whatever reasons.

Oh yeah - they also ship most of their stuff out of NJ, and I've gotten lots of stuff I ordered the very next day.

What more could I possibly ask for???

This is presently on it's way to my house:

Years ago United Van Lines bought out Mayflower Van Lines and didn't merge the two companies, at least not in name. Why? More options for the consumer. More chances to be chosen. More listings in the phone book.

Say someone in the past has had a problem with AMS and walked away disgusted....Today, they find the exact item they are looking for at AMS but refuse to buy it based on last time around so look further and find the same thing for the same price at Same Day. Bingo! Buy that baby right now!

There are really many good reasons to have different storefronts available.....More visibility or past customers (both good and bad) are just a couple of them.
