I just got their CD and I have to say I'm pleasantly surprised. Its not the best CD in the world but compared to most modern-day music it's really good. My only complaint is that all the songs sound the same... Anyone else here like them? Or hate them ?

I'm actually a bigger fan of AVA (Angels & Airwaves) and Boxcar Racer than the old Blink stuff. Though the last Blink album was similar in style to this and Boxcar's albums.
My wife's a huge Tom Delong fan. She even has his Fender signature bass (she's a bassist too). So naturally, she seems to like AVA pretty well.

i was liking a song by them until tom started singing then i was quick to realise it was just a poofy version of blink
that's just my opinion obviously, i see why some people like them but it's just not my thing at all

You're thinking of Mark Hoppus, who, to the best of my knowledge, isn't involved in AVA, and whose sig bass, from what I have heard, is a big waste of money.
I don't like Blink or Boxcar, or anything involving ayone from Blink-182 for that matter.

The Mark Hoppus bass is a waste of money if you don't like MIM jazz basses. If you like jazz feel and P sound, it's a great bass.

The first song I got into was Valkyrie Missle and I was just so so with the rest of the album then I started to really dig The War and now I just play the whole thing through.
It's not a "bass players" album by any stretch.
I think it's a cool mix of old Tom D style with some synth thrown in and it's refreshing to not hear Travis playing. I like Travis Barker and I think he is a great drummer but using him would have made the album too predictable.

I think there's only one guitarist too, so unless they used a synthesizer I don't see how they managed to fill in all that extra space. The bass player might as well not even be in it. I think punk bands should make a drumset with about 3 bass drums, each with a huge bell inside so they make a note when struck. Just take out the bass player all together and finish the murdering they're committing. I don't know why I just typed that. It popped into my head and I decided to write it. Sometimes I think i have ADD. I like the ninja smiley too.

I'm not sure how they do the synth parts live. I will have the ask my son, he knows everything about the band and album. He also saw them live. I was supposed to go but I had a gig that night.

I like Blink 182 and their bouncy major key punk pop, but this sounded like Tom was trying to be all grown up and sound like U2 rather than himself
can't blame an artist for wanting to do something more 'mature' but like Blinks last album, it just didn't do it for me
