Ann Arbor Anyone?

I just moved to Ann Arbor and I'm looking forward to trying to get a band or something started. Are there any cool places with open mic night, or does anyone know of bands that are looking? Any Ann Arbor/ Ypsi bass players want to show a new guy around town? Let me drool on your expensive gear? I'm just trying to get a feel for the area, and am a little overwhelmed by the scope of everything. Thanks!!!

Hey dude, I'm in West Bloomfield, not so close to Ann Arbor/Ypsi area. You picked a great city to live in. I can't tell you if there are any open mic nights around U of M. Pick up a local entertainment guide. I know you can find them all over town, or try the Metro Times. As far as joining a band, check out the local craigslist under musicians. I see all kind of ads for bass players. Good luck man.
