| I know he used to used to use mesa boogie amps,dont know if he still does. If you turn your pick at an angle and play with more of the edge of the pick it gives it a little more grind to help get a similar tone. Also, I dont think he used a p bass for that song, he was still using his gibson grabber then,but a little unclear because he was making a transition from the grabbers to p basses during that album.

The Evil Twin direct box has been part of mikes sound since Dookie. If you want to cut through,those direct boxes are fantastic.....Thats the majority of Dookie: The P bass,the Evil Twin D.I.,and the Seventies SVT.
