Anyway, I had the opportunity to sit in with a group, and I used the bass player's GuitarBug, and it seemed to work fine, even though its published frequency response is 40 hz on the bottom. Anybody have any experience with the GB and a 5-string? |
I have a friend (and frequent drummer) that is an AKG dealer and he doesn't recommend it (or any of the WMS40 systems) for bass, although I've never tried it myself.
I've had my AKG WR2000 (16 channel UHF) for about 4 years now. I believe it's rated response is also in the 40hz area, but I can't tell the difference between it and a cord. I almost never play a 4 string anymore so I'm playing my B through it a lot. I even drop (Hipshot) my B to A occasionally and still have no problems.
I've also never had any drop-out or interference in all this time.....and it's never had to be changed from frequency "B" (of the 16 available) since I've owned it, and since I play almost all casinos, all over Vegas, that's pretty amazing to me.
