Any AC/DC fans here on TB?

Sign in to disble this ad
I received my tickets for the AC/DC concert on sunday (Antwerp, Belgium).
I'm so excited! I always wanted to see them but never got a chance until now. When the ticketsale started, the concert was sold out in about 50 min
Did anyone go see to the Black Ice-tour? They already played in the US a couple of months ago.
BTW, are there any AC/DC fans here on TB? From what I can read I think (but I may be wrong) that most of the people here are jazz fans ... and there's nothing wrong with that of course, I also love some good jazz

Ciao,

KN

seen them 5 times over the years, very predictable but fun band to see, very simplistic and likeable bass lines

They're a great rock band! I've liked them since Highway to Hell came out. It's fun to watch Angus!

I've been an AC/DC fan for a long, long time. I actually prefer Brian Johnson's voice over Bon Scott's. While Bon and Brian have similar types of voices, I think Brian's is better suited to their music. I always thought Scott's voice was just a bit too much on the "whiny" side.

AC/DC

I saw them in Atlanta in December. I've seen them 6 times.
A really fun show. By the way, take ear plugs with you. If you don't want to use them thats cool to. My hearing did not get back to normal for a week. Enjoy!!

Great bass on ACDC, I don't get the rhythm guitarist though, he seems just to play the root bass line with bar chords.

lol ... I'll try to remember that. I had my annual medical check-up at work a couple of weeks ago and the doc. said my hearing was getting a little worse (compared to last year). It was not really alarming ... yet. So now I have some custom made earplugs on order. They made an imprint of my ears and the plugs should arrive in a couple of weeks.
Our hearing is too important to mess with. Most bassist are standing next to the drummer and if you don't protect your ears you will get damage over time.

But for AC/DC I may be willing to make an exception

For those about to rock, I salute you

I used to like them a lot more than I do now. They've gotten on my nerves.

To: Norre!

Enjoy the show, Sunday. I saw AC/DC twice w/Bon Scott, and I've seen them 4 times w/Brian. They were more raw and dangerous in the old days, but they've never sounded better than on this tour. Saw them here in San Antonio in mid-December. Sound quality on this tour is absolutely hi-fi digital quality. Amazing. Crystal clear. I've played hard rock/metal for 37 years, so I'm used to loud, but "jesus christ" this tour is loud!!!!!!!!!!!! Couldn't get that "ear to a seashell" hiss out of my ears for over 2 days!!!!! Get ready. BTW, Norre, I thought you might like a little taste of what's to come! Enjoy!

Enjoy, all. Oh, and yes, Angus is now almost completely bald. Also, he doesn't spend the entire show headbanging anymore. In fact, he played most of the show just walking back and forth and standing upright! He plays better too, doing that. Very clean and controlled. In the old days, w/all that duckwalking and head-bent-over headbanging stuff, he was a little off sometimes on his phrasing.

Cool! Thanks for the pics Trapeze Fan.
It seems they played Rock 'n Roll Train and Whole Lotta Rosie by looking at your pics

I was lucky enough to have friends in Australia when they released "High Voltage". I have been a fan ever since. Great songs, good groove. As much as I love progressive and Top 40 stuff (apart from Jazz and Latin etc etc), nothing makes me move like AC/DC

The Set

Hey, Norre, you're right. They start off w/an animated clip of Angus as the Devil, taking control of a train and trying to run it off the tracks. Two vixens jump on the train and derail his plans, saving themselves and the train just as it bursts thru a cloud of smoke and flash bangs onto the stage behind the drum riser. The wheels are turning and smoke is puffing out of the stack and the train, as you can see, has red glowing devil horns! Right then they appear on stage and hit "Rock & Roll Train" as their first song. They do play "Whole Lotta Rosie". As you can see, they also play "Hell's Bells" and the final encore, in San Antonio, was "For Those About to Rock." Enjoy the show!
