| | Yeah, I've got the moves like Jagger. | | Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: G.R. MI | | | I may or may not look into joining or forming another band. I want to do something incredibly good, yet incredibly low key. If I could play out once or twice a month and make some good money doing it, that would be ideal. Seems that most folks want to play a lot more than that, sooooooo......
I've kind of been toying with the idea of getting a little nicer bass than my Franken-Hoppus for playing in church, but then again I love that damn bass....... Maybe I'll look into making a fretless Franken-Hoppus........ Chef's newest Valenti kinda has me gassing for one just like it.........
So I guess this coming year will be filled with doubt and confusion, just like every year.

Happy & safe holidays to all and I hope everyone's bass endeavors work out! |

| | | | I usually play 4 string, but I recently borrowed an ESP LTD B-15 from a friend for a few days. I loved it, so I intend to get my own, but possibly the B-55 for the sake of the extra pickup, and learn to play 5 string. I also intend to learn Geddy Lee-style flamenco picking. On top of that, I'm working on an album of originals, on which I'm writing, playing and producing everything, so I hope to have that done by May.

I have a drummer I will be getting together with soon and we are just going to see what happens. And I really want to get on to writing and recording my own stuff as well.

I'd like to do a lot of networking and actually grow into the role of a bassist.
I'm also setting aside money from each paycheck until June when I go to Sweetwater Gearfest. Hopefully I'll be leaving with a new 2012 American Standard P Bass! Currently, none of my basses are issue-free. The most expensive one I own is my Squier VM Jazz, and while it's a nice instrument, I'd like to take a step up after 4 - 5 years of playing.

| | | | I'm really hoping to improve on my improvising. I love sitting back when time allows, getting a little idea and seeing what I can do with it. Lot's of stuff to work on...so much to learn and it's never ending when you think about it. Hoping to improve my (ahem!!) slap technique also. Got a loooooong way to go on that one.
As far as gear, I'd like to get either a nice compressor or a limiter. Got a GK MB115, I use a Boss GEB-7 thru it and have learned to get a really good sound from it. I'm very happy with the bass guitars that I own. Got an MIJ Classic 70's P bass, an American Standard 5 string Jazz bass...and about three weeks ago I bought a 4 string American Standard Jazz bass. So other than the mentioned pedal I've got all that I need.
So I'm really hoping to "hit the books" so to say and become an all around much better and a much more confident player. |

Pick up a Ricky 4003.
Write.
Perform.

Another Frankensteined 5 string SG parts bass ... it will sorta look like the Warwick Jack Bruce Sig bass.
I want to build a 5 string Rick copy frankensteined parts bass.
Maybe an iceman 5 string parts bass ...
