Any Crust or Grind fans here?

Sign in to disble this ad
I was wondering if anyone here likes Crust Punk or Grind here. I've resently gotten into Napalm Death, Amebix, Doom, Carcass, Heresy, and Extreme Noise Terror. I'd imagine alot of you guys who are into Extreme music would like Crust, the bass is often really audible and it adds a lot to the music.

I listen to Napalm death sometimes, I don't know much on the genre though.

I like grind way more then crust though, I don't listen to much crust at all.

Crust was/is like lo-fi political grindcore. Fast but not as technical - sort of like black metal vs. deathmetal.

Job for a Cowboy is more like, uh, Brutal Technical Progressive Deathmetal than grindcore. Or something like that. I just made that up.

This is one of the best crust/grind bands here on the left coast:

This is a great grindcore band here:

Also, this site's got a lot of information on mostly older bands (lots of stuff that I never even heard of back in the day), and downloads (in .rar format, might not work on macs):

Ha, i suppose your right about that! Your description of Job for Cowboy is also spot on. So does anyone know any Grind bands with really audible bass players? Ive found !T.O.O.H! but their more like Progressive Grind.

Brutal Truth

Them guys rule. Need to Control is a really, really, really good metal/grindcore record.

HERESY is effin' AWESOME! Kalv played with his fingers.

I also dig Amebix. Need more crust...though the little Oroku and Fall of the Bastards I've heard was awesome. Ditto Disfear.

As for grind-- Repulsion. You want audible bass? Check them out, Scott Carlson's distorted P-Bass is EVERYWHERE on their Horrified album.

I would totally be into crust and grind, but I shower too frequently to be in the scene.

Oh, what could have been...

I love grind, although I can't seem to get into crust as much, it's ok.

Every thing that Napalm Death did between 1986 - 89 is pure gold, my other favorite grind band is Repulsion, also going through a Bolt Thrower phase at the moment.

Doomy Grind is awesome - Cianides first album and the first few Bolt Thrower albums never fail to dissapoint

I have to revive this. I just discovered crust a few days ago. If I would have been suggested Discharge when I was a kid instead of NOFX, I would never have left.
So far I have found
Amebix
Misery
Nuclear Death Terror
Tolshock
Unruh- "Misery Strengthend Faith +8" (Whatever it is, it's one of the coolest albums I've heard in a while.)
His Hero is Gone
dropdead
Doom
Dishammer
Disrupt
Poser Disposer
Simbiose
Cursed (I dont know how crust they are)
A couple of those are grind.
I realized that I like Dystopia to much to not know any other similar bands. So I started looking for stuff. And realized crust was awesome.

But I need more in the crust department.
