Hurrah.

Concert for George was one of the most moving tribute concerts I have ever seen.

Um, yes please. Big fan. Thanks for the info...I concur about the Concert for George, and the sentiments about "what is life?"...the tidbit in "Concert" when Paul goes in with the uke and it blows up into that arrangement halfway through, I tear up every time.

Amazing work.

As the years go by, George Harrison just keeps becoming more the "gem" of the Beatles for being a great musician, singer, songwriter, and just a good person. I love George.

I'm a big fan. The All Things Must Pass reissue is wonderful.

Also +1 to the Concert for George DVD.... simply amazing, amazing, amazing, and for you Beatles fans, the first time that Paul and Ringo actually played live together since Let it Be. Billy Preston's B3 solo on 'Isn't it a Pity' is worth the price of the disc alone, as is Paul's 'Something' and the wonderful 'See you in my Dreams' at the end of the concert.

Concert For George DVD...I really dug Anoushka Shankar's performance & the 1 Sam Brown tune.

All Things Must Pass is easily the best post-Beatles' debut solo record.

+1... Sam Brown is SMOKING in that concert. All of it is just great, and what a great tribute to George. I'm not a Beatles trivia fanatic, but it was also cool that the guy they opened for early in their career (can't remember his name... he did Here Comes the Sun and the beautiful closing standard) was included. Talk about a piece of history!

That B3 solo by Billy sends shivers up and down my spine every time I hear it... pure emotion. You can see Clapton and the rest of the band looking over with a 'that's what I'm talkin' about' sort of look on their faces. The whole band kicked up to the next level when Billy started singing and playing. Amazing.

I can see I need to re-visit the Billy Preston tune.

Preston rips it up in The Concert For Bangla Desh, too.
I was a long-haired teen when I saw that in the theatre...even so, I was blown away by Preston's 'soul' in that performance (I guess all the J-5, Motown Pop stuff I listened to as a kid paid off?)

I got that album. I'm a recent convert. I really didn't take a close look at him until now.

+1... and a pre Yes Alan White on drums on some cuts. Also, a very young Phil Collins on percussion on some tracks!

I think that Peter Frampton also plays on the record.
