Anybody know if there are any good bands playing in Savannah, Georgia this weekend? I'm traveling through and wanted to check out the local music scene.

When?
Where?
What time?

Thanks!

Dude... I lived there for a few years.
Beaver Felton (owner of Bass Central) is from there and he used to play in a band called "Shut Up and Drive"... which did some great stuff. But I have no idea anymore (Beaver left Savannah before I did).
Are you going to be in the Downtown Historic District? If so, head to the City Market. That's where you might catch some live performances in front of a place called "Malones"... actually I don't know if it's still called that.
And check and see if Ben Tucker will be performing at Hard Hearted Hannah's. Which is a Jazz/Blues club above the Pirates House Restaurant.
Other than those venues I say just ask someone when you're on the ground there. If they tell you to head towards "204"... that's going to be all country stuff (Hwy 204 at Interstate 95 is a popular place for Country bands to perform in the clubs around there).
Your best bet is City Market. Good luck. It's going to be HOT and steamy as a mutha there. I don't miss Savannah in July or August. The place is just miserable. Prepare to sweat. LOL.
But it's a beautiful city. I have lots of memories there. Enjoy!

I stayed there memorial day weekend and had a great time. I didn't get to take in much of the music scene while I was there though, A few things were planned on River street that Friday night but thunder storms canceled them.

It did inspire we to write a song though!

Yeah... duh!
This is the link to the Savannah Morning News... the local paper. This goes right into their music events section.

Sorry! Should have thought of that since I'm the guy who put this newspaper online in 1996. That's why I was there. LOL.

Thanks, guys!
I'm working in Hinesville right now and I'm definitely feeling the heat. I'm pretty acclimated though

Thanks again for the advice
