Never been much of a guitar player, but have recently really wanted to start playing some acoustic guitar. Looking in the 3-500 range and found this bad boy: http://www.guitarcenter.com/Yamaha-F...stomer-reviews
Anyone familiar with her? I did a search for the model # but pulled nothing up.
I've never owned a Yamaha instrument (besides a $50 guitar starter pack when I was 12) but have heard great things about them.

fwiw I have a yamaha acoustic and it aint sexy, but it has stood up to a big beating over the years and I've written more songs on it than I can count! |

Although, it says all three colors are in stock for me.
I completely agree with you guys about going out and playing. I stopped by GC today for a few on the way home from school, and I really did enjoy everything about the Yamaha, just was curious for some TB feedback.
Sorry to make another, "WHICH PICK GUARD IS BEST FOR METAL?!!?" thread.

I've a Yamaha bass and keyboard, both do what I ask of them. I learned rhythm guitar on a borrowed Gibson bought an Alvarez and really like the Alvarez better. There is probably $1,000 difference between the two.
Play it first. |

| | | Play everything in your price range that you can get your hands on. If you can ignore the headstocks (and for that matter body shapes, styles, and colors), you may surprise yourself regarding what sounds and plays the best. Yamaha is a famous name, but they may not make the best acoustic for you. |

I also had a steel string Takamine (low end- $150ish) that sounded horrible (to me) when I put new strings on it. It sounded awesome once they wore in a little though.
