A while back I saw this band in Rolling Stone, so I checked them out and I really like their sound. They remind me a lot of Kiss, but heavier. They play goodtime rock and roll, and I think they need some support, Ive already got my local radio stations playing them, so check out my myspace page (in my signature) and give them a listen. If you like them spread the word, and if you like them a whole bunch you can see them on OZZFEST this summer.

They won the Eurovision Song Contest last year with the highest score ever. So now the contest is held in Finland (Semifinal right now and final on Saturday). We've never won before...

I think the music is ok, very Kiss-influenced, but their outfits are ridiculous. Lots of older people in whole Europe wondered "where has this world gone?" after their victory in this contest.

Lot more heavy rock influences in the contest this year... Just like I suspected.

Lordi after their victory

I personally have never heard one of their songs, but right off the bat I have inclinations to dislike this band just because their appearance is too similar to GWAR.

I mean the whole "monsters" thing has kinda been done a couple times already.

It's like if Gwar ripped off Kiss: Sign me up

... I'm not a fan. I don't know, I gave 'em a shot for some reason... nothing for me.

Yeah, gimme Gwar over Lordi any day.

*Edit

Kiss, Slipknot, Alice Cooper, Mushroom Head and Gwar should have a huge show. It'll be nothing but theatrics. At least Alice Cooper and Gwar know it's for laughs...whereas Kiss will probably sue all the rest of the bands for stealing Gene's inventions. I can't speak for Lordi, Slipknot, or Mushroom Head's reasons for the makeup.

the fact that they were even on the corn-fest that is Eurovision is enough for me to condemn them, regardless of their diabolical music and flamboyant stage gear.
