Any 'rhythm' basslines?

Do you know any good lines that go well with the drums? Don't mind genres, except blues or jazz...

Not sure what you're asking. In any popular music - yes including blues and jazz - a good bass line should always go well with the drums....

Doesn't bass usually go with the drums? I think that's whay they are both considered part of the rhythm section.

I mean bass parts that don't mimic the guitar part very much.

Anything that's more "orchestrated" or oriented towards bass. Like any kind of pogressive rock i.e. King Crimson or something like Primus.

Stop listening to rock and metal for a bit

It's obviously a MAJOR generalization of the two genres, but they’re the reason bassists get the rep of being failed guitarists.

If jazz or blues doesn’t do it for you try some R&B/Soul/Funk for arguably the best bass grooves out there (in my opinion at least lol). If that’s not your bag check out some jam-rock and psychedelic-rock, there’s usually more going on bass-wise than your typical follow-the-guitard rock songs.

Anything from Motown will work. Check out the Four Tops, Temptations and anything The Funk Brothers recorded.

If you want rhythms that interlock without duplicating, try Afro-Cuban music.

For rock, I think Paul MacCartny played pretty independantly....
