Anybody gig out solo acoustic?

Hey, any of you guys do the solo acoustic vocal thing? I've been playing out doing covers on and off for about 10 years. Before I ever had a solid group to play bass in, it was my release to get out and preform. Are there any songs you figure are a go to-everytime-crowd pleaser?

i play in an acoustic duo, so pretty close. We do whatever drunk people like to sing along to, and whatever gets requests. Lately a lot of the older tunes seem to go over really well - things like Build me up buttercup, Runaround Sue, My Girl, etc.

Also, anything by Tom Petty or U2 seem to be crowd pleasers.

We gig in Manhattan, where do you play? And do you have any favorite tunes?

I've been playing a handful of little bars or restaurant's around the south shore Long Island, Babylon specifically. I like to do Neil Young, The Beatles, classic rock, 80's and 90's stuff. U2-One, Peter Gabriel-In Your Eyes, and Neil Young- Needle and the Damage Done are my favs. I usually get a gig cause i know the bartender, waitress, etc.. Never had much luck walking in a place and scoring a paying gig cold. I think I'm a better player than a salesman
Do you ever have to give anyone, a demo or youtube link for a gig?

I'm in the process of starting out an acoustic duo right now, with one of my friends who wants another guitarist.
