It's from a concept album I'm writing, this is Act 1. There is some ambient playing that comes before it, but it was too hard to program as a midi.

Which, this is; a MIDI. It will sound kind of Nintendo / Mega Man ey, so just bare with. The theme of the album is, it's set in space and revolves around a sort of "intergalactic detective / investigator" and some strange anomolies he encounters.

Act 1 is just an introduction to the concepts; it starts out with him drifting around through space, and then chorus by chorus, the stars literally disappear. Completely blink out of vision, and his instrument panel starts going haywire. A brief interlude occurs when all stars, and even the moon (which blinks out right on the last stanza of the first part [you'll understand if you listen to the piece]) disappear, plunging him into a murky shell of what used to be space. The only light to be seen is the redish glow from his panel. Things begin "appearing" in the abyss, in a fashion much like being at the bottom of the ocean, having things drift into view very subtley. Suddenly the stars and moon come back, and the ship is back to full power; but his radar shows several enemy crafts lurking, and indeed, they dart past his cockpit. And so the last part is basically a nice dogfight, ending with him crash landing on a star ship. It all syncs up fairly well, when you listen to the thing. There are also some lyrics for the last section, but they'll be recorded live along with everything else in a few weeks / months.

(As an aside; I have no actual musical skill, or atleast, no real knowledge of music theory. For the most part I simply play stuff that sounds good together, along a certain.theme or idea. If it's musically imbalanced or opposed or whatever, I'm ..... sorry? lol) Anyways, "enjoy".
