What's the last chord of the verse? - that's the key it's in.

This'll work for 99% of all songs.

It's very likely between standard tuned keys. There was a lot of altering tape speed on "Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs".

Ahhh... why didn't I notice that before? Well, . . ."duhh" for me then.. yes, of course it makes sense that the majority of songs are gonna resolve on the same chord as the song's key..

Yeah, The Derek Trucks Band does it in A, and that's how I learned it.
I too have seen a chart written in D, that's what made me wonder what Key Clapton actually recorded it in.

Actually, I'd never heard it or even heard of it before this thread. If you'd googled "Anyday Derek and the Donminos", the same as I did, you'd have found:

which is the original track and my ears (and my bass) told me immediately it was in A.

I wonder who does it in D? - anyone got an Idea??.
