I bought a fretless jazz in VWH from them a year or so ago.
Friendly and helpful and fast delivery to Australia.

The only risk is buying without playing first.
As far as Ishi goes they're good.

I bought a PB62-65L (lefty '62 P-Bass reissue) from them just about a month ago. Had no problems. I asked several questions beforehand via email, and they always responded within a day.

I'm guessing that's an L as in left handed. I bought a JB62-92L VWH very recently just before the price rise.

You can check out pics in the MIJ club thread.

I would recommend the JB62-92L if you can afford the extra $ because of the alder body and U.S pick-ups. I don't any have experience with the basswood models, but I'm sure they're good too.

As for Ishibashi do a search under my user name for my experiences, there's not too many posts, or alternatively do a search for Ishibashi there's heaps of info.

Generally, shipping is $120 USD which is EMS which takes like approximately 4 working days since your order is placed to get to your door. In regards to customs I don't have to pay any duties on instuments under $1000 AUD but hey I'm in Australia so that only applies to Australians.

You have to email them at web-shop@ishibashi.co.jp in order to place your order with someone who speaks english

Forgot to mention in my earlier post, the only minor issue I had was with the tort pickguard color on my PB62-65L. The photo on their website showed a reddish tort, and I emailed and asked whether that was the actual color. As it turns out, they told me it wasn't. Apparently Fender Japan has recently switched to a more brownish tort color for that model, and they said their website photo hadn't been updated yet. They sent me a link to a more accurate photo, and I was happy enough with the color, so I ordered.
