I bought this some time ago (probably when it first came out). I've got it stored away along with a bunch of other bass ( and Fender) books. Got to pull them out again a refresh my memory (I'll probably spend a whole afternoon looking through them)....

Howdy Gard

The book might have come out before Roscoe was up and running. USA BAsses is an awesome book that I am pretty sure Roscoe is in though.

Doubtful Kevin, Keith started business (as a repair shop and retail shop) in 1971, he started building guitars in the early 80's, and basses soon after...of course, until about '95 or so he wasn't too well known for his basses, them being overshadowed by the Dr. Death guitars (the "skull & crossbones" guitars referred to by WillPlay! ).

I'm just kiddin' by the way, I've read the book in question, and it is very thorough in a lot of ways.

looks pretty cool, I bought a book "the complete illustrated history of guitars" or something like that, read it cover to cover and I don't even play guitar

What, is GASing for basses not doing for you anymore? You have to GAS over books about basses? Geeze, where does the madness end!

Seriously though, it looks interesting. I remember I saw a illustrated encyclopedia or something about guitars and basses at a Borders once. It was like $10 too, and no tax because it was in New York. I truly regret not picking it up, because it had some pretty interesting pictures in it.
