Anyone ever heard of Robin Guitars?

Just curious?

I picked a late 70s early 80s model up a year ago. It's a great guitar, but its not my thing so i'll probably be selling it soon. I was just wondering if anybody had heard of them, because before doing research, I hadn't.

Mine has a single humbucker in the bridge position. Very Metal!

The guitar player in my old band had one, an early-mid 90's Medley. It was a cool guitar...

Yep, Robin has been around for a while. I believe they started out in Texas (and may still be there?). I think Eric Johnson played Robins during his rise to popularity...

Never heard of them before, but I almost pooped myself when I looked at the site. They are beautiful.

They're great guitars. I got to tour the factory in Houston back in the day. Andy Timmons of Danger Danger was in checking some bodies out and we got to hang with him. I always wanted a Medley bass but they're not making basses anymore.

Rob Buck R.I.P. (10,000 Maniacs) played Robins for a while in the late 80's/early 90's.

Mine looks similar to the one on the far left except is is more of an amberburst finish, has the silver pickup cover over it and has a maple board.

No clue what they're worth, probably not a whole lot since they were never really that popular, which is no reflection on quality. I also remember Slaughter being a big user of Robin guitars and basses.

+1

Tim Kelly of Slaughter used them as well as members of Dangerous Toys, Jimmy Vaughan, Tora Tora and John Butcher to name a few.

It depends a lot on whether is a TX-built or a Tokai-built model, but even then, they're not worth a ton due mostly to obscurity. Great guitars, though.

Do you have any pictures? That would help me give you an idea.

I think Tommy Shannon used to play one.

The "Ranger" or something like that.

Neat guitars.
