When I'm trying to play higher register or chordal stuff I prefer guitar. It's better suited for such things.

Depends on my mood. To me it's all music and instruments are just tools of expression.

I actually bought a guitar a few years ago to try and kind of expand my talent as much as I could. I played for the couple years and just recently sold my guitar and my guitar rig. I played lead guitar for a progressive metal band for almost a year until it dismembered due to our drummers personal problems.

I wouldn't say I am AMAZING, but I was definitely very good for the time I had been playing. I kind of miss it from time to time. Been thinking about picking up a cheapish acoustic.

I'm so abysmal at guitar that if I got into a guitar dual with a 5 year old, I'd lose.

I dunno about actually admitting to "better" . . but there is just more DEMAND for me lately playing electric guitar opposed to bass. Playing bass is comforting, fun and pretty darn exciting most of the time.. electric guitar playing is a function of filling a sonic space.. which I can do pretty well within the praise team's framework. They have two other bass players that trade off right now, so I'm "tapped" for the lead guitar slot by the band leader.

For me, playing bass is more fun, but I do enjoy playing the guitar quite a bit. Like somebody else said, they're just tools of expression.

I do like guitar better actually, but it depends on my mood. I tend to favor one or the other for long periods of time before switching off and getting into the other for a while.

I'm a total lead/solo player, so the things I play on bass closely resemble my guitar playing. I like to think of guitar and bass as being the same instruments an octave apart and with different tonalities. (That probably doesn't work at all in any sort of a group setting, but yeah, solo work.)

The problem though is that my guitar has frets on it, and since I am used to playing fretless, that severely limits me.
I've been hoping to build a fretless Strat one day, but I'm afraid that it might not sound good.

If I'm picking something up to noodle, it's going to be my acoustic. I've got different tools for different moods, my Strat, my Jazz bass, and my baritone acoustic depending on my feelings.

Depends on what I want to play. I really enjoy picking up my acoustic and playing a song or whatnot, however, bass is my true love

im like 75-25 in favor of guitar. this changes depending on the project im in. my last band, i was 75% bass. this time, 75% guitar. i still pick up my bass, but the strings are old as dirt, and its not financially responsible to put 50$ worth of strings on it. just sold my amp last week.

+1 again. Just gotta bend like crazy.

Great for slide though! I actually play a lot of slide bass, and it could pass for guitar on some of my recordings.

No. Guitar is enjoyable, to a degree. It is most definitely inferior to bass, however.

They compliment each other, but my first love will always be my favorite.

I go back and forth, but lately I am digging the bass more. Those guitar strings are just so darn small! Maybe I need to put some 12s on or something.

I've been playing on my guitar a lot recently for some weird reason. I'm no good at it though.

I would love to play lead guitar and solo and stuff but my guitar ablities are like nirvana some simplier guitar lines, i cant play like guns n rose on guitar,

But really i like to write songs and bass lines on an acousti guitar while sitting outside, i get alot of compliments on my bass lines and in reality they were made on a guitar.
