I played for the couple years and just recently sold my guitar and my guitar rig. I played lead guitar for a progressive metal band for almost a year until it dismembered due to our drummers personal problems.
I wouldn't say I am AMAZING, but I was definitely very good for the time I had been playing. I kind of miss it from time to time. Been thinking about picking up a cheapish acoustic.

Playing bass is comforting, fun and pretty darn exciting most of the time.. electric guitar playing is a function of filling a sonic space.. which I can do pretty well within the praise team's framework. They have two other bass players that trade off right now, so I'm "tapped" for the lead guitar slot by the band leader. |

I'm a total lead/solo player, so the things I play on bass closely resemble my guitar playing. I like to think of guitar and bass as being the same instruments an octave apart and with different tonalities. (That probably doesn't work at all in any sort of a group setting, but yeah, solo work.)
The problem though is that my guitar has frets on it, and since I am used to playing fretless, that severely limits me.
I've been hoping to build a fretless Strat one day, but I'm afraid that it might not sound good. |

+1 again. Just gotta bend like crazy. I've been hoping to build a fretless Strat one day, but I'm afraid that it might not sound good.:(
Great for slide though! I actually play a lot of slide bass, and it could pass for guitar on some of my recordings. |

But really i like to write songs and bass lines on an acousti guitar while sitting outside, i get alot of compliments on my bass lines and in reality they were made on a guitar. |
