Anyone here ever deal with Bass Northwest in Seattle?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi Guys,

Just wondering if anyone here has had the pleasure (or displeasure??) of dealing with Bass Northwest in Seattle.

They have some nice basses there but, I'm a little wary of dealing with them as I know absolutely NOTHING about them.

Any experiences you could relate would be appreciated...

I have been dealing with Evan and Chad, the owners of Bass NW off and on since they opened over twelve years ago. They were one of the first bass only stores in the country and have a great reputation for being honest and very competitive with a good selection of products.Don't hesitate to buy from them if they have what you want. You will not be disappointed. They are the real deal.

IIRC Steve Fossen (Heart) works there, he was quite funny and quite knowledgeable.

I lived in Seattle until just recently and have to say they are some of the best folks in the business that I have ever dealt with - by far. Very, very helpful and I really do trust them a lot. They've always gone a little beyond (or a lot!) with any transaction I've ever had.

I've dealt with them many times in person, everyone on staff is knowledgable and friendly, but especially Evan and Chad the owners............Tho Steve Fossen is great to chat with too. As a bassist you'll appreciate being treated like you're #1, as opposed to going to a place like GC, where at best we are an afterthought.

A long while back, say 7-8 years, i went in with a briefcase full of crap pedals i didn't use and walked out with my sansamp bass di. i'm still using it today! the shop was nice, had a lot of beautiful stuff to look at, and the staff was awesome and very kind to my then very newbie self. i'd love to go shop there more often but i'm a broke poor bastard without any spare time to go to seattle anymore.
i live in olympia... and here we have a couple neat shops, music 6000 and capital city guitars.

Great folks, 100% trustworthy and helpful.

I've bought from them, sold through them, traded, visited and socialized with them, and it's always been great. Evan, Chad and their crew Rock!

Aloha,

Jonathan

I'm another satisfied customer, they are great to local bassists but do a lot of internet business too. I can't recall ever reading a complaint about them on the net.

Those dingos at BassNW ate my baby! Plus I have reason to believe they are responsible for the heartbreak of psoriasis.

I have been buying from and selling on consignment with them for years when I lived on the east coast. Always so easy to deal with and very friendly. One of the first things I did apon moving to Portland was take my wife on a road trip to Seattle to try a specific bass. I called in advance and Evan put the bass on hold. When I got there they set me up at the amp wall and turned me loose. They had no problems with my endless questions and going back and forth between basses and amps and even treated my wife like a valued knowlegable customer (she does know many things bass!).
We left that day with a very nice fretless 6.
I would say I've purchased about 50% of my overall gear from them.
Bass NW.........Highly reccomended!!

Never made a purchase there but have spoken on the phone with them a few times and they were very, very helpful and knowledgeable. I wouldn't hesitate to do business with them. Only a 5 hour drive away. Might have to swing over there soon.

Friendly and very cool people to deal with I've made a few purchases from them over the last couple of years. I wouldn't hesitate to do business with them again, except for that whole recession thingy I've been hearing about....

Great operation! Did any of you know that these are the folks who inspired G&L to design the JB-2? it's true! ...just ask Evan. I bought one of the 2 custom NAMM show release models (Winter '01) from BNW. Great folks to deal with!

I used them twice (only mail order) with basses sent to the UK. Their service is excellent, efficient and pleasant, the only issues I had I think were down to bad luck and 'mail order'.

One saddle screw was missing from the Fender bass I ordered (no biggie-ordered some from Allparts)

A packing knife (metal with a retractable/snap off blades) was left in the case of my Lakeland Jo 5-rattling around in there! It did actually scratch the bass, and the scratch took the finish down to the wood on the natural ash body when buffed out. This bass also had a defective neck needing replacement direct from Lakeland, but I am positive that the guys at BassNW had absolutely no idea about this defect.

As ever, buying mail order is always risky....
