they were the mtv icons this year...and blink 182, afi, the deftones and razorlight covered some other their songs.

i was actually really impressed by blinks preformance..and jades distortion was amazing in afi's...

Two questions.

Why is it the "MTV Icon" is always just happening to be releasing a new album when they become an "Icon"?

Why is this on MTV Europe only? I don't recall hearing anything about this one, especially considering the blitz that heralded the Aerosmith and Metallica shows?
