Saw Levon Helm last night in Boston. Boy did he rock. He spent about 60% of the night behind the drum kit and 40% of the night playing mandolin. Little Sammy Davis on harp and Phoebie Snow on vocals as special guests and an incredible band featuring Larry Carlton as the music director led to a rocking night.
Highlights were Levon on mandolin leading a small piece of the band through a cover of Sprinsteen's "Atlantic City", Phoebie's vocals on Van Morrison's "Into the Mystic"

and a final encore jam/sing along to "The Weight"
If you get a chance to catch this show go. Tickets were a reasonable $50 and worth every penny.
Small disclaimer, if you are expecting a 2 hour set of Band classics buy the Last Waltz DVD. They only played about 5 Band tunes.
