I am, and I'm extremely excited. I'm getting my Mesa 400+ tomorrow. Very excited to own one of these again!

Anyone ever get so ancy that you take work off to make sure you're home for it? Not to mention I don't want it sitting on my doorstep all day.

I always have my purchases delivered to my work address. Luckily they understand I don't want expensive instruments left on my porch & have no problem with getting ahold of me, UPS & FedEx are at my workplace every day anyway. I've never had a problem with anything that was delivered to my house...more problems with signature required, & nobody home...but it doesn't pay to tempt fate, IMO...

As a matter of fact I'm working from home tomorrow so I can take delivery on a hard shell case for my new acoustic bass. If they didn't let me work from home then I'd probably be doing exactly what you're doing.

I made a 10 hour round trip for my Mesa 400+.

Then I made another 10 hour round trip when I sold it.

RE: Take-off for new equip...

Yup I've done it myself. Knowing that UPS gets to my house between noon and 1pm I usually leave at lunch. My boss plays a Les Paul/Marshall and has no problem relating.

I've done that. I've also taken time off, been sitting right by the front door, and the delivery guy leave a tag on my door. Some of them must just barely touch the door when they knock. It really sucks when the next scheduled delivery day isn't until the next week.

Unfortunately, I can't have it delivered to my work. Instead I have to switch my days off and work 6 days in a row

Oh the things I do for my gear.

yeah,
"uh, boss, I need the day off because something is being delivered to my house".

of course, I usually just have things sent to work, but for the occasional thing that is too heavy to take home on the train.

I do it also. I have come home too many times to expensive gear sitting on my steps in the rain.
