Anyone tried the Korg pandora px5d?

I'm in a weird situation - I want to get back into bass, but I have no amp and will probably not need one in the near future as I have no band either. I'm kind of isolated where I live. I like the idea of being able to play basslines along with mp3 files on the computer, and perhaps even recording them if I want to. I noticed that marlowedk on youtube uses the Korg pandora px4d to record all his stuff on his laptop, but he had to have someone rig up special cable to for his computer. Now the Px5D is out, and this seems to be just what I need. Tuner, metronome, the ability to record and edit basslines on the computer, etc.

Does anyone out there use this regularly, or do you know anyone who does? It looks a bit pricey, but if it does what it says it does, it might be worth it...

Maybe the amp forum isn't the right place for your question. I have tried the Pandora unit out, and it's got some great things going for it, but no I don't own one, nor have I considered how to use one for recording. I'm sure it may not be that tough to interface it with any computer for recording.

I don't have that version, but I have a Pandora for bass (the metallic red one), and I love it for home/apartment practicing. I found it helped my playing tremendously and is very fun.

My roommate, a guitarist liked mine so much that he went out and bought one for himself too (the grey one that does both bass & guitar sounds)

I have the old red one, too. Useful as a tool for mixing an external audio signal with my bass into headphones. Has lame effects/models though tuner and metronome are fine. Drum patterns are marginally useful.

I just picked up the PX5D to replace my headphone amp and phrase trainer. It's an incredible little machine. I just plug my bass in, use a splitter on the Output where one connection goes into my line-in on the computer. The other is used for real-time headphone monitoring.

I can then either play to tunes using the Aux, or just record straight to the computer.

It sounds great! I haven't gotten into any patterns yet, but in listening to them, they're salvageable for practicing. Then again, I could just use Fruity Loops on the line in for convincing drum patches.
