I'm curious to see if anyone's band has been signed with a major label and I'd like to hear about your experiences with that. My bass teachers band was signed with Capitol records and a local band just got signed with Mercury records not too long ago. The singer of my band is good friends with them, so maybe they'll hook us up... jk

Yeah. It was a mixed bag. Had a top 30 song, songs in some big movies etc, did a ton of tours, but ultimately the record company messed a lot of things up (and surprisingly, admitted to it). Too much record company stress caused stress on the tour bus between bandmates, and when it came time to do a second album, it was either "make an album" or "be friends"... it wasn't gonna work both ways. We had all been friends for so long - we chose that over money and another couple frustrating years. We're all still great friends, and I have a lifetime of memories. All in all, I wouldn't trade the experience for the world, but there was a LOT of frustration while it was happening.
