anywon ever gone from a five to a four because of left hand cramping issues?

ive played a 5 for a few years now and when i try to play complex riffs my left hand will cramp up. but on a four i feel so much for freedom and i can groove and enjoy myself more. anywon else have the same issue?

I did, once, and thought that I couldn't play anything but four stringers. Later on, after I played a six with good ergonomics, I realized it was that particular bass, not fivers in general. Now I play, 4, 5, 6, and am thinking of getting a 7 as well.

I am going back to 4's for the time being until I fully recover from my recent tendinits surgery. Time will tell if I migrate badk to 5's.

I went from wide 5 spacing (Yammy RBX) to a narrower (Hohner B Bass) and I'm fine.
