Artists/Bands who have lost their relevance

Sign in to disble this ad
As the title suggests, who do you think were important artists in the music world who have now totally lost their relevance?

Two that immediately come to my mind are:

Michael Jackson
Aerosmith

Bruce "The Boss" Springsteen, he ditched his band and went almost easy listening on us.
Did he fall on his head or something?

Caveat: Personal opinion incoming.

The Rolling Stones.
Hang up the spurs already, they're getting really rusty.

Korn. (sorry, can't find my backwards 'r')
That unrepentent anger thing is sooooo '90s.

Vanilla Ice.
Say what, man?

Well, Creed, if they ever were relevant in the first place.

Agreed on both counts. Man..Aerosmith. Where do I start. One of the GREAT hard rock bands of the 70s. Their first five albums were EXCELLENT. The pop crap they put out these days makes me retch.

Since when does music need to be relevant? It's *music*, not national policy!

dunno bout 'relevant'... but in the 'used to be good but are now crap' stakes it has to be Metallica... their fall has to be the most spectacular ever seen

I blame the short hair and wearing wifebeaters

R.E.M really should've called it quits when Bill Berry left, their albums after "New Adventures in Hi-Fi" (which is also lackluster at best) are pretty painful to listen to.

Throw them in the never-had-any-relevence-to-begin-with bin...

Anyway, you've all listed some good ones, but forgot one of the biggest of them all, U2.

Also, U2, U2, and U2.
