So, how many of you all are members of one of these fine organizations? I know I'm probably bringing anarchy to to Miscellaneous by talking about them, but I'm curious.

I hope you get some replies on this, Eric. I'm really curious about the merits. I've also heard weird tales about certain labels not recognizing ASCAP or BMI. And that you can't take your catalog if you change.

I know they sound like urban legends to me. But I'd hate to make a mistake with something as important as publishing rights of my songs (they all are multi-platinum gems!!).

Agreed. I know I need to sign up somewhere, but I'd like get all the facts first. Good thread.
