Attention all iPod Touch/iPhone users!

Go to the app store, and buy the Bebot Robot Synth. It does about 3/4 of what a Korg Kaossilator will do, but for $2 instead of $200.

It's just a synth modeler, so there are no drum sounds, and it doesn't do looping, but you can change some of the parameters like resonance and cutoff on the synths, and you can control delay and overdrive on most of the patches.

Amazingly, the thing actually sounds really good. I was goofing around with it over my lunch break and hooked it up through a powered mixer and a single 15" PA cab (I work for an A/V company) to see what it sounded like, and I immediately caught the attention of a few of my coworkers, including my boss, who is a big electronic music fan and another guy who also plays bass. The thing can sound really, really fat, especially with just a touch of EQ tweaking.

One of the guys in the shop just hipped me to this one, and it's addictive!

...they're already asking me to turn it off in the office...

...I have a rehearsal tonight, I am SO stopping at RS to get a 1/8" to 1/4" adapter for this thing, I can't wait to hear it through my Eden WT550/Epifani UL310 rig~

...hope they don't fire me!!!

I've got this and another synth app (Pianofly, lets you adjust waveforms, attack/sustain/delay/release, pitch, all that; VERY cool for $2) now, and I'm really tempted to slap my old Morley A/B box on my one remaining open spot on my board to hook my iPod up to play through my amp.

By the way, I also already tried the BeBot out through my Kustom Groove1200 and one of my Tech21 B410 cabs, and it sounds pretty dang cool.
