To the Aussie TB'ers

Just a quick question guys, what are the employment oppotunities like in Australia for audio engineering work?

I've been looking at taking a year off from my uni degree to do 6 months at TAFE doing a cert II in Audio Engineering. But is there any job ops around? would I be wasting my time?

How good are you? And by "good", I mean how often are you late, speak inappropriately to venue and even managers, damage gear, look untidy etc etc?

There's work alright, and plenty of it in the Sydney cover-band scene. But the guys who run the sound companies have a lot of trouble getting good help.
