Hi guys!
like I mentioned in another thread, I´m looking to order a Fodera bass.
I´ve been doing a lot of research through the web, and these guys ate AUSTIN BASS TRADERS, make a fair deal, and they say they get me the bass in about 9 months.
Do any of you have any experience with them yet?
I apreciate any help on this one. thanks! |

Be careful of the 'Fodera in 9 months promise' They are taking about 3 years now. Yes, if Glen has one on order that has been in the cue for a while, you might get it that quickly, but for a new custom order, 9 months is fantasy.
I lay the blame on Fodera, not the retailer, since this '9 month' time period seems to be quoted by many Fodera dealers. |

Now that is pretty funny! I wouldn't plan my gigging schedule around that date if I were you. |

I bought a customized F-Bass through him a couple of years ago....never pressured me, spent a ton of time on the phone with my annoying @$$ going over my options and trying to nail down what I wanted.
He even coordinated to get me in to NAMM on a guest pass with George Furlanetto.
I highly recommend him. A++++++ |

I had both of my Fodera's in 2-3 months and the F Bass delivered before time too.
Glenn often has popular models on order and I managed to get in as they were becoming available...
Great guy, great service... |

My friend Ryan Owens ordered one from Glen and he quoted him like 4 months. Vinny was about to pull his ticket to get started on it. Thats why the short wait but it was more like 6 months to get it in his hands. But still I would rather take what Glen has coming to him and change that order verses calling Fodera and ordering on and waiting 36 months. Just my opinion |

The first was a posting he had in stock, the other was a custom order fretless. Glenn knows his basses and is always willing to answer any questions you may have. Just today I emailed him concerning another bass I have on order. He promptly emailed me back and also called to provide some updated status. The nine month wait? It's no joke ... I waited for my fretless almost nine months, the one I’m waiting for now has been on order since November and it will still be another two months. Custom orders take time, but are worth the wait in my opinion. For example, mine were ordered from MTD. I’ve been told Mike only makes about nine to eleven basses a month. With high demand basses like Fodera, MTD, F-bass … custom orders will take time. Bottom line …. I wouldn’t hesitate to order from Glenn …. He is as previously mentioned A+++++++. |

When I lived about 20 minutes outside of town, and about 40 miles from Glenn, he drove 20 minutes to meet me so I could pick up my gear without an extra long drive! I can't recommend him highly enough!

I apreciate any help on this one. thanks! | I've been doing buisness with Austin Bass Traders since 1997. Glen helped me make some important decisions about bass selection and equipment by spending copius time with me on the phone. He educated me after a 20 year hiatius from the scene as much had changed with respect to gear from the 70's. I have been thoroughly satisfied and impressed with ABT's honesty and integerity and have grown to call ABT/Glen a freind. I have ordered several custom MTD's over the years and Glen has always delivered the basses on time and at a fair price. What more can I say, ABT is my preferred Bass purveyor and I have over 10 years experience now with them. Peace, Randazzler |

Looking at the posts I can see he doesn't need my endorsement, but I'll give it anyway. He's a great guy & he will steer you right. I've never heard of him BSing anyone. He's a true FREAK about high end bass gear. |

i bought a couple of cabs from him just recently--he (along with Mark at Accugroove) helped me choose what i needed based on our conversations, and i couldn't be any more pleased with my sound...very knowledgeable, and it's usually first-hand knowledge too

He knows basses, and understands what you need. Truly a "custom shop" experience. If you are looking for a big retail location, this is not it. If you want truly personal service, Glenn is the man |

I read here just nice things about ABT and Glenn. I just get an Invoice from him for a Fodera Emperor II 5. My question is: shall I trust, and transfer the full price in advance to him? | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
