I'm playing a gig this weekend with the one and only Quiet Riot, and being a huge metalhead, it's a big deal for me. Here's the deal: I'm pretty sure there are only two members now who were around on Metal Health. I've got the Metal Health Vinyl and a metal health poster, and perhaps a CD for my girlfriend's dad who loves the band but has to work.
Given that not everybody worked on the original projects, is it still fair/acceptable to ask them to sign them, since I'm going to see them play it? Should I ask only the original contributing members? Is that unfair?
Also, with the amount of stuff I have to sign, it shouldn't take them long. The show's expecting about 100-125 people to show up, so it's not a huge crowd, and the band's usually hang out after the show at this venue. Is it taking advantage of the band to have them sign some stuff while they're there? At what point is it too much (IE the 3 items I listed) and could the band feel like I'm using them if I go to hang out with them and then ask for an autograph?
Just some weird questions for people more experienced to me... I'm new to music. I didn't listen to music before I got Guitar Hero in 8th grade, then I picked up guitar 9th grade, picked up my bass last July (sophomore year) and now I'm a junior... so there's only a total of 3 or 4 years I've been listening to music, and only about 1 and a half or 2 years I've been going to shows... never been close to a band this "big"
