Auxiliary percussion setups??

Sign in to disble this ad
I was wondering if anyone has an aux percussion setup for gigs, and if there are any clever ways to incorporate them into the set.

I am putting together a small instrumental Latin jazz/Afro Cuban/salsa improv ensemble.

I have a woodblock mounted on a bass drum pedal that I will use to play the clave with my right foot, and I was thinking about getting a similiar setup with some sort of bell and switch between the sounds.

But, I also want to have something simulating a cáscara pattern (side of the timbales) and a few other bell patterns, shakers, etc.

The instruments would be spread around the group, but, aside from the horn player, no one else will have their hands free very often.

Pics would be great too!!
