| Average Nut Width (guitar), Help Needed!

Hello!
Awhile back I made a thread about how my sister is going to uni, and with her, the guitar.
I am almost thankful for this, because it gives me an excuse to buy myself a 7 stringer.
My question is this, What is the average nut width for a 6 and 7 string guitar? I am curious because her guitar's nut width is 1 and 1/2 inches, while other acoustics I have seen are closer to 1 and 3/4 inches., and I struggle with 1 and 1/2. (strings too close together.)
(side note- Her acoustic has an electric guitar bridge...... an odd feature I hear.)
