I don't want to hijack Din's thread but I've wanted to share this for a while. I'm posting the link at the bottom so you read the explanation first.
This vid is from the Coventry preformance of Phish's
Wading in the Velvet Sea. It's an absolute train wreck and hard to listen to but the sentiment is very strong and very moving.
For those that don't know Coventry was the 2004 festival that Phish put on as a farewell. For all the band new this was the last performance they where going to share together as Phish. The feed was simulcast into theaters and me and my GF (whom I shared all my Phish experiences with) at the time made a trip to Seattle to watch the last day of the festival. We were "there" when this happened (albeit in a nice comfy theater in Seattle as opposed to a muddy field in Vermont). When Page gets choked up I did too as I'm sure a lot of people did. I'm actually getting choked up listening to it now. It's an absolute horrid performance but no one cared (as you can tell by the cheers). It was such a range of emotions.
Of course we now know that Phish (Trey especially) worked through their demons and are touring again, but at that time we thought they were done. Phish fan or not; you can't deny the power of music to move.
