this ever happened to you guy? you guys find your ideal tone, but you cant use it in the band situation, just put some new GHS bass boomers, flea sig strings on my schecter and implaying throug an ampeg 8x10 at the studio, and im getting such a sick tone, but it just doesnt fit into the music the band is playing... :'(

I got an amazing sound out of my fretless through this one practice amp. It was more the kind of tone one would expect from a trombone, or a cello, than from a Fender bass.

But it was from a tiny practice amp that died. I've tried to get that same tone at a usable volume for years.
