I actually saw one up close at GC and I didn't like the looks. The black painted line that seperates the natural maple from the stained maple had run a little bit and that soured me. It felt nice, but I didn't have the time to sample it.

They need to release a double-neck Eagle bass... 8 + 4, Spinal Tap style.

I had an '83 Warlock with dual P's. It was sweet.

Yeah, I admit I've been checking these out too.

I tried a couple at different GC's. They look better in photos than they do in person, but I never liked modern BCR's "puddin top". Workmanship is a bit sloppy and varies from one piece to the next. Neck profile feels nice and comfy if you're already used to a 1 11/16" nut width.

Basically it's a copy of a vintage Mockingbird Supreme, neck through with binding and clouds. Except the pickups are backwards.

These are coming from HHI/BCR's new factory in China. Whenever they start working out of a new shop, their production normally gets better over time. So I expect we'll see the build quality improve over the next few years. They are also using different pickups and hardware than were used in the old Korea factory (as posted on their forum about a year ago).

I'd be very interested in hearing some hands-on reviews of these along with the NT series basses made in the same new facility. Not sure I'd buy one though. That "Made in China" stigma is pretty hard to get past. I'm probably more interested in their new "Calibre" series which are made in Czech Republic.

I played one in gc... didnt notice that it came from a different factory from my NJ beast... sounded and felt almost exactly the same... the new pups make no difference, but it needed a setup... too little action for me, but i'd buy one in a second!

Thanks for the hands-on, Rip. Good to know it's pretty close to an NJ.

You didn't notice the "MADE IN CHINA" sticker on the back of the headstock?

They're probably using the same specs from the Korea factory. The new 5 piece neckthrough lams (made in China) look IDENTICAL to the Schecter neckthroughs MIK. NJ's also used the same ABM knockoff bridge as Schecter, and I'm pretty sure that B & G is the same OEM that makes the low cost HZ pups and preamps for EMG. Same specs from the same Korea factory that makes Schecter, ESP, and the NJ series.
