Back in the market (Piano Content)

As the title states, I'm back in the market for a new (or used) piano. I currently live on dorms and my roomsize allows me to have an upright! First I tried to convince my parents to ship the piano at their house to mine, but they wouldn't have it. Therefore, I want to get my own. I've been playing piano since I was 6, so that makes 13 years. Originally classically trained but since I started playing bass some 4 years ago I'm more into jazz/soul/blues and similar styles.

I'm looking for a piano that can help me improve on my playing but that isn't too expensive. What you expect? I'm a student. Upcoming saturday I'm having a day planned for me to see a couple of showrooms and try some uprights. I was hoping that you guys could give me some preliminary directions what kind of brands and models to look for.

Thanks
Muusers
