a bamboo guitar?

first act has apparently made a bamboo guitar (and a cheap one at that) in an attempt to be eco friendly. they claim that bamboo is harder than maple, and makes an excellent tone wood.

i can only see one glaring issue here.. the body is likely made of 50+ different tiny pieces of wood.. which could likely greatly affect tone.
