Is your band holding a Christmas dinner or party? I don't mean playing at one, I mean getting together with the band members for dinner. My originals band is doing a dinner this evening, and to be honest I find that weird. None of my other bands are.
I just hope the pianist doesn't bring his laptop and ask me for help with Sibelius again!

I'll host a couple of BBQ's in the summer, and guitar guy has a couple of Football parties (one being Sunday). We spend alot of time with each other, and thankfully we all (including the S.O.'s) get along swimmingly...........
And we never talk "shop" at these get togethers..................

Last winter the guitar player had a turkey in the freezer left over from Thanksgiving, and we all made something and got together after the holidays. It was nice.

Just about every gig is a chance to do this... I'm not against it or find it strange..
There is a quote "the most rockin bands are the ones that bowl (together) better than they play"

The families also eat together most every Sunday after church. Low key stuff as we are all over 70 and have trouble driving after dark. LOL
Small town we've known each other for years. |

Sometime even a little gift swap. Also we have a summer jam session witha couple of our local bands and musicians. We invite the whole neighbourhood so as not to p#@%* anyone off with the loud music.I think every band should do this once or twice a year. All you need is a couple kegs, a bbq, your band, and invite the neighbours for some music. Oh and of coarse, Tell them it's potluck and BYOB. |
