Band ideas to stand apart from the rest?

Sign in to disble this ad
I don't know if that's the correct way to title this thread. But I am looking to make my band more different and unique. I have one of the best light shows in the area and we are an all female band. However, I want to do something else to make us stand out. But I have no idea where to go with this. Got any ideas for me?

Choose a band name that is so unique that when you google it, it's all (or nearly all) you see.

it would help to know what kinda music/band you are..

I mean, if youre a punk band I would think of a whole different set of ideas than if youre a Jimmy Buffett cover band... (i sure as hell hope youre NOT the latter)

Play freebird on kazoo after being shouted at by a druken audience member. The audience member should be a friend wearing a bandana with a beer in one hand and a lighter, held up high, in the other.

It's all about danger. There has to be an element of danger to what you do, whether it is in the material or the presentation. Or both. How you define it for yourself is up to you.

Juggle live grenades on stage? Set fire to your hair? Invest in derivative securities?

Gratuitous fire and nudity are sure fire ways to set your band apart from the rest.

All good, but most audiences won't get the last one.

I still vote for Freebird on kazoo.

Real good harmonies would help. Can't say enough how important that is and how it will set you apart from most other classic/modern rock cover bands. IMHO of course.

Don't suck.

9/10 bands I see suck. I hate to say it, but it's true. Just sloppy in general.

I see a lot of bands from all over the country as well, it's just depressing at times.

You've already taken the first step in NOT standing apart from the rest...
